Tips for brewing coffee

Fold and rinse the filter

Fold the filter into a cone shape and rinse it with boiling hot water (approximately 95°C). This will remove the paper taste while also warming the cup or carafe you are brewing in. Then empty the water after rinsing.

Measure and template

Grind 21 grams (about 3 tablespoons) of coffee beans to a fineness similar to sea salt. Place the finished ground coffee in the coffee filter or directly into the press.

Saturate the bottom of the filter

Then saturate the ground coffee beans with boiling water. Use just enough water to cover the bottom of the filter or press. Then let it steep for 15 seconds. The coffee releases gases, or "blooms," when it is fresh so let the ground coffee rise and bubble a little.

Pour continuously

Continue to pour the water slowly and evenly in a spiral motion over the dark coffee grounds. Then add water every 10-15 seconds to ensure even extraction.

Remove the coffee maker and enjoy

After 3 minutes, you should now have approximately 300 ml of brewed coffee. You can now remove the filter, or press the coffee into the press jug if you are using one, and pour the coffee into a hot cup.
